A special heart-felt thank you to all who make the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner a reality. Without the sponsors, the volunteers, and the participants, this event would not be as successful as it is each year.
In the past the dinner has been able to raise through donations approximately $42,300 to help benefit The Deep Well Project. The dinner not only provides a Thanksgiving meal to those who are not able to serve one themselves, but it also provides help to needy families throughout the year with The Deep Well Project.
Without people like you, we could not accomplish this task. Thank you and may you have a blessed holiday!
The Deep Well Project is a privately funded, volunteer-based organization that streamlines vital social services for the Hilton Head Island community, bringing immediate assistance to Islanders in need. It is able to provide food, clothing and other social services to those in need and also respond in a timely manner.
Deep Well is a clearing house, truly a network that works. Contributions we receive are never dispensed as cash assistance. Instead, money entrusted to us is used to pay providers for essential goods and services that bring relief to those who need it.
Deep Well's outreach programs provide food for the hungry; stopgap assistance with rent, water and utility bills; household furnishings for families who suffer catastrophic loss or who are without funds; transportation to clinics or governmental offices for those unable to arrange their own; septic system and home repairs to low income islanders, often in the form of low interest loans, through its Livable Housing Initiative; medicine, clothing, child care and school supplies for Island children in need through its Children's Program.
